8 Proven Tricks to Prevent Your Google AdSense from Getting Banned

For Bloggers and Online Marketers to gain the most out of their efforts invested in Google AdSense, certain vital precautions must be followed. As Google is strict while checking non-compliances to its defined set of protocols, advertisers must be in sync to avoid any kind of penalties and getting their AdSense accounts banned! Take notes!

Below, I will be sharing with you the 8 essential tips to follow to prevent yourself from getting banned from Google.

Here I go,

  • Don’t take the invalid clicks route

Advertisers usually take the short route to maximize their earnings by asking their friends to click on the Ads through different IPs. Advertisers even ask visitors to click on the Ads there by restricting the reader from moving ahead to the content. Google keeps a strict watch on any such activities that result in pushing the click rate by false & illegal means.

  • Avoid hosting on copyrighted content

Employing AdSense services, you should not publish your Ads on websites that contain copyrighted content, like movies, music or maybe gambling sites. Google completely restricts advertisers with an immediate ban of AdSense accounts on violation of the same.

  • NO unauthorized & adult content

Prevent posting Ads on websites which are categorized as forbidden/unauthorized/illegal by Google. Any content which inflates sensitive issues like racial discrimination, hacking, war weapons selling, pornography, adult content or any other form of violent content should not be used to place Ads.

  • Avoid changing the AdSense code

Altering the AdSense Code is a violation of the rules defined in Google AdSense program policies for advertisers. Google does not entertain any type of alterations made to the AdSense Code which can directly or indirectly boost the clicks and conversion rates.

  • Take note of the blog’s language

Another prime factor that could hit you badly resulting in your AdSense account being banned is the language the blog supports. Placing your ads on blogs which are not supported and covered under the AdSense program policies can make your account banned. Any hack employed which could convert the blog’s language as per the ad’s language is equally considered illegal.

  • Take caution while placing Ads

Most publishers go wrong while placing their ads. Take precautions while choosing the placements for your ads as this also is a factor which if not followed properly could result in violation of the rules. Avoid placing ads in emails, pop-ups or software applications.

  • Any kind of misleading activity

Being a publisher, you should not practice any activity that can mislead a user. Ads should be placed in such a way that a user can simply distinguish between an ad and content. Placing advertisements under false headings such as “resources” or “helpful links” are termed as misleading. As per Goggle AdSense Program Policy, publishers can label Google Ads under “Advertisements” or “Sponsored Links”.

  • Formatting content to look like mimic ads

Under certain acceptable limits it’s wise to make your ads appear as part of the content. Changing the color, size, font of the ads are some of the ways employed by publishers. But take a caution, as ads should not resemble the content. Google best practices suggests that ads should not be made sticky and neither place ads on a site which supports video curation or ads appearing on a 404 error page, exit pages or thank you pages.

Also, make sure if the ads are placed on a non-Google search page, there must be a clear and identifiable distinction between the ad and the search results.
